As part of this year’s Berlinale, of celebrating the short film “Scenes From the Suburbs” Arcade Fire and Spike Jonez , 16 February its world premiere in Berlin, as a contribution to the series’ Berlinale Shorts . ” Last year, the Canadian rock band, produced together with cult director Jonez the film in a suburb in Austin, where she attended a week a group of 15 year old girls and boys. For the single ” The Suburbs “by Arcade Fire were already excerpts of the film to a music video edited together a few. The film paints a portrait of the sheltered life on the edge of the city, in supposed peace and security that suddenly sees itself threatened by war, violence and brutality.

In May, is an expanded version of the Arcade Fire released album "The Suburbs" as a DVD, which also want to include "Scenes From the Suburbs. Ari Marcopoulos: Directory

Ari Marcopoulos will be released next April a new book of photographs, Directory. Published by Rizzoli, the latter has over 1200 pages about 1200 photographs of recent from the Dutch photographer, some of which are accompanied by comments made by Neville Wakefield. Limited to 2000 copies, each book comes with a screen print signed by the artist. Available now for pre-order on Amazon.

Hand crafted by 72-year old master distiller Francisco “Don Pancho” Fernandez, Ron de Jeremy Rum ($TBA) is a high-end dark rum that’s oak aged for seven years, resulting in a rich, smooth flavor with hints of vanilla, sugarcane, fruit, and spices, and comes in a bottle with the Hedgehog’s mug on the label. No word yet on whether it has any, ahem, “enhancing” properties.
