Butane: Badassness

Butane-Alphahouse//Little Helpers//Crosstown Rebels//Berlin

How busy can one man be? Let Butane tell you. He’s running 2 successful record labels, producing EP’s, albums and remixes for some of the most respected labels in the business, and touring extensively across the most renowned clubs in Europe, America, Asia and beyond… all without breaking a sweat.

A firm believer that the long hours of studio work keeps a musician grounded, he’s produced 14 EP’s, two albums, and countless remixes to date, on highly respected labels like Crosstown Rebels, Dumb Unit, Foundsound, Alphahouse, Rrygular, Mo’s Ferry, and Hallucination Limited. Licensing original tracks to mix compilations such as Matthew Dear’s Fabric mix, Luciano’s HiFi SciFi on Soma and Damian Lazarus’ Get Lost mix shows that his peers in the industry hold his music in high regard.

He is also the sole creative mind behind Alphahouse Records, one of North America’s premier underground electronic music labels. His latest label project, recently embarked upon with his long-time friend Sean O’Neal (Someone Else), “Little Helpers”, is already making waves and popping up in playlists all over clubland.

As a DJ, Butane uses vinyl, Traktor Scratch, samplers, effects and whatever other new tools are available to craft his sets. Plenty of experience as a headline performer as well as an after-hour favourite enables him to play with an incredible range, and his remarkable sensitivity to the energy of the crowd is the rare trait of a seasoned and perceptive musician. His skilfully developed sets are both classy and elegant, but surely never predictable; thanks to his huge collection of new and old tracks alike, expect anything from seamlessly blended groovy, sexy, peak-time techno to warm, deep, heady house music.

Butane certainly makes a strong case for himself as one of the true talents in today’s music scene. How many hats can one man wear? Or maybe the real question is: Are there any hats left unworn?

Butane: Badassness

I don’t often have birthday celebrations. In fact, the last birthday celebration that I had was when I was 6 years old (had to look it up).

BUT THATS OKAY!

I’m going to make it all up at the Badassness Party. Haus and I are celebrating OUR birthdays at Upstairs Lounge. If you don’t know Butane, thats OKAY. Representing Crosstown Rebels, AlphaHouse, and Little Helpers, Butane is an international artist and has worked with the best in the industry.

I’ve witnessed his great attributes to the industry and this is not an event to miss in St. Louis.

Music Monday

There is a lot of music out there… a lot of bad music and few good.

Starting today, I will be posting up a new “Feature” set of Techno/House/Tech House that I can’t seem to get enough of.

This week I am featuring Audiofly at Verboten in New York. Setting the mood, the dou starts off with Take Your Hat Off (Shaun Reeves & Tale Of Us Remix) by Jay Haz and moves through notable deep house and tech house artists such as Christian Burkhardt, No Regular Play, and Satori.

Audiofly are the duo of Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton. They met and started working together in the spring of 2002 and immediately started a prolific partnership based on their shared music styles and experiences on the DJ circuit.

Their combined talents have created a powerful, experimental and original style of music (a deadly, dirty, jackin, tech meets electronic house) which is very current on the underground club scene.

Daft Punk makes a Coca Cola Commercial & new Website

The commercial will be released next 4/3/2011 on French television and radio, with the rollout will be a website http://daftcoke.com/ and bottle set “Daft Punk x Coca-Cola Club Coke” resembling Daft Punk’s helmets.
